Q-switch Carbon ion Nano-Lambency

Q-switch Carbon ion Nano-Lambency is a new kind of laser peeling. Unlike the CO2 and Er:YAG laser resurfacing, the Nd:YAG is an non-ablative laser, which means that it targets tissue in the deeper layers of skin, leaving the top-most layers uninjured. The Nd:YAG is typically used to address cosmetic skin problems such as unsightly veins and pigmentation problems, and for the removal of tattoos or unwanted hair. It does not cause tissue evaporating and, as a result, there are no negative effects of long-healing injuries. The surgery itself is painless and not damaging and there is no risk of any after-treatment injuries. You can continue your every day routine just after the surgery. Since there are not many lasers of this type in Poland, laser peeling is not very well-known in Poland these days. Yet, this type of peeling, called "Black Face Therapy", is one of the most popular methods of laser peeling in Japan, Korea and USA. The method consists in spreading carbon molecules on the upper layers of skin. The molecules penetrate the slightest hollows and pores in the skin and ,during the surgery, they absorb high-energy laser beams and cause micro-explosion on the skin. The photothermal and photochemical effects purify the skin, reduce the number of widen pores and activate the process of collagen rebuilding.

TATOO REMOVAL - Q-switching

How Laser Tattoo Removal Works:
Laser tattoo removal employs a special type of laser called a Q-swiched laser Nd:Yag which uses a process called selective photothermolysis. This means that the lasers used to remove tattoos have the ability to selectively target only specific pigments and break the ink up into tiny particles. The process is important because it means that the tissue surrounding the pigment is left intact. Also, since only light is entering the skin (and light is sterile), there is a very low risk of infection. This differs from older methods of tattoo removal that required the breaking, cutting, or abrasion of the skin. Laser Nd:Yag emits beams of different pulse length:
  • 1.1064 nm for dark tattoo removal (black, grey, navy blue)
  • 2.532 nm for red tattoo removal
Not all the colours of pigment are possible to be removed. The colours of the tattoo which are not mentioned above are more difficult to remove. Q-switch laser allows to remove professional and amateur tattoos. Effective therapy depends on the size and place of the change. It may vary from a few to a dozen or so treatments, which can take place every 4-6 weeks. There are a few factor which influence the length of treatment:
  • the colour of pigment and the number of tattoo colours
  • the colour of skin
  • the size, depth and type of the pigment
  • individual reaction to laser immune system reaction)
Amateur tattoos need about four treatments to be removed effectively. Professional tattoos need about five - six treatments to be removed completely since pigment density is more intense. There should be 6-8 week break during which the fragments of broken pigment are absorbed by the body which results in getting the treated change lighter. How It's Done:
The first step is a thorough consultation with a doctor. He or she will complete a detailed history and physical examination to ensure there are no underlying medical conditions that would preclude your having the procedure. Your tattoo will also be physically assessed to determine whether you are a good candidate for the procedure. On the day of the procedure, the area will be numbed. Although some patients may choose not to have any anesthetic, most do. Usually, this involves the application of a topical anesthetic . Sometimes an injectable local anesthetic is used instead of or in addition to the numbing cream, although this is not preferred because it can cause or worsen swelling and/or bleeding. Patients often say that the sensation of being treated is similar to being snapped with a rubber band. After the area is treated with the laser, a loose dressing may be applied over a thin layer of aloe and hydrocortisone-based healing balm to facilitate healing and protect the area from bacteria and trauma. After a few days scabs come off the skin reveling epidermis to be in the process of healing. In order to avoid complication scabs cannot be torn out. After each treatment the tattoo is getting lighter but sometimes a small amount of pigment remains and tattoo outline can be slightly visible. In rare cases scars might occur but it concerns those who are susceptible to scars. After the treatments of tattoo removal there occur discolour or some texture changes but usually within 2 years they disappear. In rare cases there are permanent changes which are very minor and hardly visible and thus easily accepted by patients. Contraindication

Not a Good Candidate is a person who:
  • suffers from susceptibility to scars
  • suffers from connective tissue problems
  • is treated with oral isotretinoin and 3 month period after the therapy
  • has a huge tattoo area
  • has a dark type of skin
Other ways of tattoo removal:
  • CO2 laser - there is always a scar after the treatment
  • IPL: during this process pigment is heated to a very high temperature which causes the treated cell decay.
  • Surgical cut-out
